Description
The Raine Island navigation tower was built in 1844. Raine Island and Moulter and Maclennan Cays collectively make up the Raine Island National Park (Scientific), which is protected under Queensland’s Nature Conservation Act 1992. Entry is by permit only, and limited to authorised persons undertaking management activities or scientific research or monitoring. Raine Island is a very remote and researchers have to be self sufficient.
